Christmas Lunch

On Wednesday December 10, we held our usual Christmas Lunch at The Olde House. The numbers were a little down on last year but the reasons were understandable.

We missed two stalwarts, Ray Mountain and Tony Curtis, but hope to see them back fighting fit in 2015!

The picture shows our Vice-Chair, Stuart Masters, and Trustee Carol Kennerley organising the raffle, which raised £66. Our members clearly enjoyed the event because they insisted we had a further social meeting on December 15th, additional to our programme.

So 2014 has closed on a positive note with a trip to Matlock, a Christmas Lunch and a relaxed evening in the pub! We look forward to an equally busy year ahead.

Victorian Christmas Weekend

For the second year running we organised a trip to Leys Hall Park in Matlock for our last excursion of 2014. Last year there was a severe storm overnight and the marquees showed the effects  This year we had ideal sunny and crisp winter weather.

We did not have time to visit all the stalls but saw (and tasted!) a  wide range of food and drinks, along with some very unusual craft exhibits. Outside there was an impressive display of birds of prey from several continents.
